Welcome back to the Ruby Rowing Chronicle
Shocking, I know, that there is in fact a second edition of the Ruby Rowing Chronicle. Many people thought that this was going to be one of Ruby’s flashy ideas with no legs. But, if anything, I’m even more excited about rowing than I was a year and a half ago when I started. I’ve learned a lot and I’ve had a lot of fun. We’ve had some great races, and other big ones to come.
The most exciting news, however, is that we have signed up one of the most wonderful rowing professionals in the country as my rowing partner in the double. She will head our competition program and be in charge of all things rowing. Of course, she’ll have the help of Mike and Tim, Sando, Jairo, and of course Dannie. But she brings to our team something very, very special. A former Olympian, with a history of achieved goals and trophies as long as your arm. A continued love of rowing, a solid coach, a great rower, and above all, a very special person. (See article.)
Finally, one of the big thrills is hearing from some of you, how pleased you are to receive this chronicle—which has enlightened you about a subject that you previously knew very little about. Hopefully this and following issues will continue that interest.
